Containing the work of over 30 poets, this matricentric feminist anthology aims to examine, to exemplify, to challenge, to reach out, to call out, to resist, to defy, to call to action, to fight back, against the expectations, social and personal limitations, taboos, tropes, and stereotypes of mothers, mothering, and motherhood. This connective collection consists of new poetry interwoven with a few select reprinted poems originally featured in past issues of the Journal of the Motherhood Initiative, the Journal of the Association for Research on Mothering, and Demeter Press collections.
