International Sex Workers Day — June 2

motheringsexwork

On June 2, 1975, sex workers in France protested criminalization and exploitative living conditions outside Saint-Nizier church in Lyon. Since 1976, the day has been recognized around the world as International Sex Workers' Day. To celebrate progress made toward sex workers' rights since the '70s, and to draw attention to issues that still need to be addressed, we present images from Mothers, Mothering and Sex Work, edited by Rebecca Bromwich and Monique Marie DeJong (forthcoming from Demeter Press).
